Rev Your Engines for Superbikes at Brainerd

Nestled northwest of the city of Brainerd, Minnesota, Brainerd International Raceway (BIR) stands as a premier destination for motorsport enthusiasts. This expansive complex boasts a 0.25-mile dragstrip, two overlapping road courses (2.5 miles and 3.1 miles), and a kart track, making it the largest racetrack in the Upper Midwest with one of the most diverse motorsports schedules around.

BIR has a rich history that traces back to 1982 when it became a favorite venue for motorcycle racers with the Honda Classic Camel Pro Series. The road course quickly gained fame when three-time 500cc world champion Wayne Rainey clinched the Superbike final victory in its inaugural year and then again in 1986 and 1987. Over the years, the American Motorcycle Association Superbike Championship made BIR a regular stop, showcasing top riders like Fred Merkel, Doug Chandler, Mat Mladin, Miguel Duhamel, and Eric Bostrom.
