Come out to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for MotoAmerica’s Superbikes at Mid-Ohio for a weekend of family fun, August 16 through 18.   Six race classes will compete with qualifying rounds all day Friday and a full day of races on Saturday and Sunday. You won’t want to miss Hayden Gillim take down the competition in the Superbike, Stock 1000, and King of the Baggers classes. The weekend will be complete with stunt shows, free carnival games, and a chance to meet the riders. See you at the races!

Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio is a motorsports venue spanning 380 acres, featuring a road racing circuit with a 2.4-mile, 15-turn track and a 2.258-mile, 13-turn track. The facility hosts the IndyCar, IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship, and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, as well as club events like those from SCCA and the National Auto Sport Association.

The track was conceived by Les Griebling, who enlisted support from local business associates to create a weekend sportscar racing course. The track follows the natural landscape, featuring a series of twisting and plunging corners connected by a fast, kinked back straight. Notable corners include the Keyhole and the Carousel. In 1963, modifications were

made to increase the track’s speed, removing Oak Tree Bend and adding the Thunder Valley section.

For nearly two decades, Griebling managed the circuit, hosting events for various racing organizations. The track saw visits from racing legends like Denis Hulme, Peter Revson, Bruce McLaren, George Follmer, and Jackie Stewart. CART IndyCars began racing there in 1980, with Johnny Rutherford winning in a Chaparral.

Additionally, the circuit is home to the Mid-Ohio School, established in 1993, which offers programs for licensed drivers and motorcycle riders in defensive driving, high-performance driving, and high-performance track riding.
